Lullabies: Songs to Calm Your Baby


Lullabies are a concept that began centuries ago in European countries as a poetic and musical creation. Mothers made up most lullabies from past generations who instinctively knew their babies would fall asleep much easier listening to a song that was sung very softly. Soon they would be lulled off to sleep. The sound of your voice singing a melody relaxes and calms restless babies. They are reassured you are near, by hearing your voice, especially when they hear you sing in a low tone. That tone is soothing to babies. This is a special way to connect with your baby and share precious moments. There is no substitute for this magical way of communication with your baby. Lullabies help to build trust and are very simple and easy to sing. Cuddle with your baby, walk the floor with your baby or lean down to them in their crib, and sing a special lullaby. No matter how modern the times, pass the tradition of lullabies to your children; these are memories that will last a lifetime.
